Brazil wins opener against Croatia in a close match
An anticipated game by many including myself, featured one of the best teams in the World Cup 2006 Brazil against Croatia, considered a dark-force underground.
The match was expected to be dominated by Brazil, but Croatia held themselves throughout most of the game having numerous exciting chances against Brazil. Brazil scored the lone goal when Kaka striked a really nice goal into the upper left corner of the net in the 44th minute.
No more goals were scored, as both teams had more chances with Croatia coming close to tying it.
I was cheering for Croatia, and am not dissapointed at all with their showing. They played a great match against Brazil who was expected to walk all over them, and it gives hopes to many of the Croatian fans that the next games should be good ones.
